			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>When will the government learn to stay out of our lives? California’s San Joaquin Valley is facing +14% unemployment due to an EPA regulation causing a man made drought. In reality, this 14% is affecting California’s farming district, and thus will affect the rest of the country with a high price for produce. As described in an article by the <a href="http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052970204731804574384731898375624.html">Wall Street Journal</a>,</p>
<blockquote><p>The state&#8217;s water emergency is unfolding thanks to the latest mishandling of the Endangered Species Act. Last December, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service issued what is known as a &#8220;biological opinion&#8221; imposing water reductions on the San Joaquin Valley and environs to safeguard the federally protected <em>hypomesus transpacificus,</em> a.k.a., the delta smelt. As a result, tens of billions of gallons of water from mountains east and north of Sacramento have been channeled away from farmers and into the ocean, leaving hundreds of thousands of acres of arable land fallow or scorched.</p></blockquote>
<p>It makes you wonder whether these bureaucrats have their constituents in their mind when they are choosing to protect a fish over the lives of humans. Unemployment is battering our country. I am one of those unfortunate Americans who was laid off and have unable to find a replacement job. Furthermore, does this remind anyone of the “dust bowl” during the Great Depression. A massive drought caused soaring prices in the farming regions, which lead to massive inflation to cattle and swine to accompany the acres of badly over used fields, which were completely devastated by the cotton industry.</p>
<p>How did the government respond to this? Naturally the progressives stepped in buying some of these livestock, slaughtering them and not putting them to good use. In regards to the damaged field, the federal government paid farmers to try new farming methods, some even blowing 65% of the field in attempts to revive the dead soil. In the end, it was not the federal government who saved farming (though the federal government was ultimately responsible for the destruction of the Small Scale farm), it was the big rains of 1939 which provide enough water to help repair the damaged cotton fields and revive the dried out  corn grounds.</p>
<p>It is the San Joaquin Valley where many of the migrant farms found themselves after losing their farms to the droughts. Books like the Grapes of Wrath depict people crossing the United States for the chance to pick grapes in California’s wine country. Where will San Joaquin’s people migrate to? I suspect the to the welfare line. Why even bother finding new work when you can receive government aid? How will we learn from the Dust Bowl? Will the Federal government resort to aiding the farmers or will they fix the problem in the first place and divert the rivers back to where God put them. Though I hope the welfare line and more ineffectual government intervention will not be the case, it is only apparent that many will choose the easy path rather than the hardworking path, which includes easy money in their pockets.</p>

<p>I, like many Americans, have close loved ones who were affected by breast cancer, the closest one being my future mother in law. She has been blessed with private health care, but can you imagine her opportunities if she was not. The options are clearly different between a private health care insurance such as Kaiser compared with a state run health care like MediCal. Would they have help to provide her with breast construction afterwards? Or might they have considered her mental health a less important issue to cover under their growing costs of social welfare. Might we consider the very idea that her breast cancer was caught early and was fully capable of being treated because of this nation’s great private insurance sector?</p>
<p>It is easy to forget its importance, but I can thank private health care for many of the lives in my family. Thanks to my grandmother’s secondary insurance, she is able to have her dialysis treatments at home while she sleeps at night. Because of her age and the cost of treatment, it is clear that this opportunity would probably not have been considered under a government run health care system.</p>
<p>I believe that the issue will become more polarized as people begin to realize the real effects this bill will have on the lives of those we love, and even eventually our own lives. Furthermore, I do not like the idea that someone so distant may eventually decide to pull my plug to save resources for someone healthier.</p>
<p>Sure, medical reform is definitely necessary. But, many experts would say that the removal of government intervention would be the most beneficial. Please continue to consider your loved ones as you continue to consider the continued health care debate.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I know it’s been a while. I apologize. Once you miss a couple blogs, it’s hard to get back into the routine.  I just wanted to briefly talk about the March on Washington DC on 9/12. As of July 18th, there are over 10,000 people registered to go. Many believe this is just the tip of the iceberg. Many people are clearly upset. People are flying from across the nation to protest against our ever growing socialist government. The message according to the site is as follows:</p>
<blockquote><p>Our message is that governments at all levels have been spending way too much money. The federal government is especially guilty of this, as they pile up the debt, deficits and unfunded liabilities. They are taxing, borrowing or printing money with no end in sight. This madness has to stop, and that is why we are demanding that they stop the wasteful spending and stop burdening taxpayers with more debt.</p>
<p>This protest is about defending our liberty, and about restoring our Constitution by reducing the size and scope of the federal government.</p></blockquote>
<p>This could be the biggest most eye opening teaparty event yet. I just wanted to encourage all of you, who can afford it, to take part in this event. Whether you are flying to Washington DC (I&#8217;m making effort to go. Round trip tickets from LA area to Washington are only $219), or you are participating in a local teaparty, we need to make sure we keep this movement alive. Cap and Trade, healthcare, government run banks are running this country into the ground. Unemployment is growing. Businesses across the board are struggling. Hardworking American&#8217;s are losing their jobs. Even the companies that are thriving have higher taxes looming over their heads.</p>
<p>Washington is choosing to model their new socialist country after California. California is clearly running themselves into the hole. Regulation, taxes, overspending has caused one of the largest economies in the world to diminish; running the entire country on debt and ious. Is that really what we want for our kids? As everyone has said, this is not a party issue, this is an American Issue.</p>
<p>Obama&#8217;s approval is sinking. People are waking up because of our hard work. By the time September, comes our country will be fully prepared to listen. Clinton&#8217;s approval numbers during the peak of his scandal continue to stay above 60, Obama&#8217;s approval ratings are dropping bellow 60.</p>
<p>And with that, I will end this blog. Pray about it. Its over a month away. You have time to save and work toward this goal.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I recognize that it is &#8220;normal&#8221; for California to pass the budget late. It is hard for us to come to an agreement with polarized discussions on balancing the budget. But, just because it is the norm, does not mean that it should continue to happen. We cannot spend money we don&#8217;t have. That should be the first clue. After doing some research, I have found that you can view the Governor&#8217;s proposed budget online.<br />

30% of the budget is proposed to go to the California schools; about 40 billion dollars. (Makes you wonder why many of our school systems are failing.)<br />
28% of the budget is divided between various programs which fall under Health and Human Services. This includes Department of Social Services and MediCAL, spending 37 billion in state funds.<br />
Currently, there is a 41 billion dollar budget gap.<br />
Last fiscal year, California&#8217;s net spending totaled 144.8 billion, while federal funding only equaled $59.5 billion. During our current governors tenure, state spending has rose more than 40%.<br />
Solutions proposed are obviously raised taxes. California Teachers Association are preparing an initiative for this upcoming November special election which will raise sales taxes by a penny.<br />
Democrats in our state legislature would like to raise our gas taxes by 19 cents. Picture to yourself an extra 19 cents per gallon after gas prices are already on the rise. On top of this, they would like to raise our income tax by 2.5% and agree with California teachers in raising our sales taxes another percent.<br />
Republican legislatures are no better. Though they attempt to shift the focus on taxes, many recognize the need to close the budget gap and have been persuaded to agree with tax increases.<br />
Senator Michael Duvall has worked to cut the budget narrowing the gap to 16 billion.</p>
<p>The focus should be to lower taxes, cut spending, and watch California&#8217;s economy grow. Our state should not be encouraging a day of grieving for Michael Jackson. They should not be proposing legislation for his memorial. How about a memorial for the men and women we have lost at war? How about a memorial for the efforts of hardworking Californians who fund this state and work hard to provide for their families, teaching their kids about self reliance and responsibility?</p>
<p>The lesson to be learned should be that governments cannot spend what they do not have. They cannot spend most of their budget on failing social programs. Instead of pouring more money into the system. They should be improving it, making it more efficient. They should provide ways to benefit the working class and encourage self improvement rather than government reliance.<br />
Several other states are dealing with these problems as well. New York has decided to raise taxes and have seen many of their prominent residents leave for states with lower income taxes.Can you imagine when this issue becomes a part of the forefront of national politics? We already have a federal spending problem, but we will not be able to it ignore for long.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Obama Administration is realizing that the country is still falling deeper into the recession and what is their solution? To  pour even more money into the system. Did anyone else but me see this coming? Nevermind the fact that we shouldn&#8217;t have poured money into <em>failing</em> business in the first place, why would they pour more money into a <em>failed</em> solution to support <em>failing</em> businesses. There are too many &#8220;fail&#8221;s in that sentence.</p>
<p>This money isn&#8217;t magic. It didn&#8217;t grow on trees, unless you consider the fact that it is not gold supported. Inflating our economy by growing our national debt is clearly a bad idea. Our creditors most likely want to see our economy strengthen and our debt decreased, and the best way to do all of that is to cut spending and lower taxes.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Yesterday, I spent the day with my dad. He was once a strong conservative, fiscally responsible, strong on national defense, and social issues. I am not sure where he even found the Obama juice a year ago. My family is literally chalk full of conservatives. He, like many diluted Americans, believe that though the economy is getting worse it will still take some time for the great bills he pushed through to spread down to the working class. We aren’t waiting for prosperity, we are waiting for debt.  Let’s take this time to remind him (and others like him) what debt means for the future of America.</p>
<p>The country is 11+ trillion dollars in debt. The interest alone on 11 trillion dollars is 26 billion <strong>per month!</strong> Added up over a full year, that is 300 Billion dollars just in interests. Imagine what departments could be fully funded if we weren’t paying interest to our creditors on 11 trillion dollars. According to Glenn Beck’s latest book Common Sense, we could fully fund an annual budget for the Center for Disease Control (6.1 billion), Coast Guard (8.7 billion), and the Department of Interior (11.1 billion) just off of one monthly payment of 26 million.</p>
<p>Now, as anyone with a credit card knows when you pay just the minimum payments on your debt, interest compounds quickly adding itself to your statement and growing the debt. This borrowed money will need to be paid back. And, with the addition of socialized medicine, our debt will continue to grow. Politicians on both sides are making no stand to right this wrong. They continue to spend. Bills like the climate change bill continue to spend our hard earned money. We aren’t spending money to make money now. We are spending money to force another generation to deal with our mistakes.</p>
<p>Obama asks us to wait, but how long will China wait before they decide our economy is too rocky? How long before they sell our debt? Imagine the consequences when our biggest creditor sells our debt.</p>
<p>If the economy gets better, it will not be because of the money that was poured into it. It will be because our American businessmen found a way to fight through this mess. In the end, we are still left with this debt.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>July 4th, 1776 the American Colonies declared their independence from Great Britain with the signing of the Declaration of Independence. It was this article (said to be one of the most beautifully written documents of the English language) that provided the people a refuge from a man they believed to be a tyrant. He continued to abolish natural rights given by God to all of mankind, the right to</p>
<blockquote><p>Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed,</p></blockquote>
<p>It is in this article that our great country was born. Not in the actual sense, since the next form of government creating a confederation of states failed, but in the sense that our government was created for the people, by the people. It was created to protect the individual liberties of each American. It was with prudence that they finally declared this declaration stating that,</p>
<blockquote><p>Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed.</p></blockquote>
<p>They didn&#8217;t just pick up one day and say, &#8220;To Hell With This&#8221;. It was years of misrepresentation and grievances, but at some point they realized that the injustice was wrong and the continued acts were never going to change without action.</p>
<p>Some say we are at the cusp of a new revolution. Not a revolution with muskets, but a revolution of ideas. We are unhappy with the direction this country has taken. It seems that many of our government officials are too far and not interested in the people who vote them into office. We are won over by pork rather than experience and honest, hard work. I definitely don’t think we should break away from the state or anything. I’m simply suggesting a return to the government which worked. It is not “old”, it is alive. And though our government foundation was designed to protect the minority when the mob speaks injustice, our current politicians have found the numbers and while supported by the media has created itself the opportunity to push agenda that is unconstitutional and does not provide freedom or liberty.</p>
<p>It is with these injustices that we must continue to educate ourselves. We must work toward the future. We must awaken those around us. Regulation and government intrusion should not be the ideal situation from any American citizen.  It has come a time were we must continue to unite under our blessed constitution and fight hard for our liberties. We, the minority, are growing. It is no longer a party issue. It is an American issue.</p>
<p>With that, I will leave you with a quote from the Federalist Paper #51,</p>
<blockquote><p>If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary. In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you must first enable the government to control the governed; and in the next place oblige it to control itself.</p></blockquote>
<p>We have lost this last part. It is our job to reinforce the ideals we hold so dear to our hearts. We must fight hard, with our words  not our fists, with our patience not our temperance, for these liberties. It is our job to protect ourselves now that politicians will not!</p>
<p>I hope you all have a fantastic Fourth of July! Enjoy your fireworks and your hotdogs, but let’s not forget what we are celebrating. We are celebrating the birth of our freedom.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The media coverage on the unfortunate death of Michael Jackson has become a joke at this point. People die across the world every day. Death is a natural process of ones life. Everyone will die eventually. And, though I feel for his family, mostly his kids, I still don&#8217;t think we should be completely focused on his death. How exactly does the location and details of his will affect my life? Unless he is donating most of his money and estate to the California deficit, I&#8217;m not interested. Even the coverage regarding Mark Sanford&#8217;s affair has covered up many important issues these past few days.</p>
<p>While we are busy engrossing ourselves in celebrity private lives, California (and at least 8 other states) are facing <strong>serious</strong> budget problems, major companies like Wal-Mart are jumping on board with health care, and the climate bill was passed in the house.</p>
<p>How do these major issues affect the public? They affect them greatly. Though many people do not know their state senators and assemblymen, California Democratic senators are insisting on increasing taxes to decrease the growing budget gap. Though our governor has vowed not to sign a budget with new taxes, I don&#8217;t know if I can really trust him after the whole Prop. 1A craziness during May. Luckily, bipartisan Americans voted that bill down. Hopefully, we will continue to raise awareness of our state issues at the upcoming July 4th Teaparties.</p>
<p>Even though California is greatly in debt due to the states large social programs and outrageous regulations, the nation continues to model itself after her. The very fact that California will begin writing IOUs today should be a screaming alert signal that &#8220;free&#8221; health care and environmental regulations <strong>WILL NOT</strong> work! I know in the area I live in is at 12% unemployment. <strong>12%!</strong> If that isn&#8217;t a wake up call I don&#8217;t know what is. And yet, Congress continues to push Obama&#8217;s agenda through at an alarming speed. The most recent climate bill was so long it would be literally impossible for anyone of those representatives to have read the bill over night.</p>
<p>Luckily, the Cap and Trade bill is going to the Senate for debate and vote soon. Though with recent addition of Al Franken, the senate has a 60% majority, the Senate has an uphill battle to reach the votes necessary for this bill to pass.</p>
<p>Democratic Senator Claire McCaskill was quoted recently on twitter saying,</p>
<blockquote><p>I hope we can fix cap and trade so it doesn&#8217;t unfairly punish businesses and families in coal dependent states like Missouri</p></blockquote>
<p>I hope that more senators will join this opinion and vote no. Please continue to call and write your senators. They must know they will not be reelected if they support a bill that will kill jobs and raise our taxes. On top of this, people need to be educated on what this bill will do to the future of our national economy and our individual lives. Do you honestly think companies will pay the difference for these manditory upgrades? It is the consumers who will pay the difference.</p>
<p>This is our late chance to stop this bill. We know that once it goes to President Obama it will be signed. The solution to many of our problems is to educate ourselves. We should no longer rely on mass media to tell us what is important. They are too busy focusing on personal lives rather than the issues.</p>
<p>Attention: Michael Jackson is <em>still</em> dead.</p>
